The East Islip Fire Department located on Long Island, NY made apparatus safe driving the topic of a special drill held at their firehouse in November of 2009. The department hosted the 3 hr RESPONDSMART classroom session after Commissioner Tom Drywa attended a similar session presented by Mike Dallessandro at the NYS Fire Districts annual meeting in May of 2009. Members of The West Islip Fire Department were also invited to the class and were also in attendance.
