Dear Friend and Colleague:
I would like to invite you to Firehouse Expo July 21-26, 2009 at the Baltimore Convention Center. I’m teaching these classes at the conference and thought you might be interested in attending:
Creating a Fire Apparatus Driver Response SOP
Thursday, July 23rd
8:30AM
Room # 324-26
Motor vehicle accidents that occur while responding and returning from calls remain a leading cause of line of duty deaths and injuries for firefighters and emergency care providers. This workshop looks at these statistics and provides an SOP model for reducing your agency’s chances for having a serious accident. Attendees will also receive pertinent, up-to-date data and real world apparatus operation tips and techniques that they can take back to their departments.
Preserving Our Past - Protecting Our Future
Wednesday, July 22nd
3:00PM
Room #Latrobe (Hilton)
Today’s all volunteer fire service is facing many challenges and leaders of these organizations are going to have to wear many hats to keep these organizations heading in the right direction. This workshop will focus on key behavioral points of members that helped make our fire companies of yesteryear grow into the organization they are today while at the same time identifying new behavioral patterns that are causing concerns for the future. Attendees will take home with them a positive message and teaching points about dedication to community service, proper behavior in the firehouse and in public, ethics, values and what it means to freely give of yourself to be a volunteer firefighter today.
If you’re not able to attend the conference, please be my guest and visit the East Coast’s largest combined exhibit hall of fire, EMS and rescue products. Over 450 exhibitors will be on display. Register online with the Promo Code 109SFP and you’ll receive FREE ENTRANCE TO THE EXHIBIT FLOOR as well as the opening ceremony and keynote presentation being held on Thursday, July 23 at 10:15 AM. This year’s opening ceremony includes a special presentation with a video you can back to your department.
